Today Pastor Jinkyoung is attending the last day of the Wisconsin Annual Conference, so Sheila Olsen was our guest speaker. Per her request there is no video of the service. It was a message titled “Grief and Finding Faith.” It truly came from her heart.  Pastor Jinkyoung added a section to the message titled “Grief, Lament and God’s Presence.” We sang “Christ, Whose Glory Fills the Skies,” “Jesus Calls Us,” and “Freely, Freely.” Pat Anderson sang the Lord’s Prayer.

Today is Trinity Sunday. Pastor Jinkyoung’s message “Trinity: Love All the People” uses Matthewe 28: 16-20 and 2 Corinthians 13: 11-13 for the scripture.  We sang “Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee,” “There’s a Spirit in the Air,” and “Spirit of God.” Joanie Heinze and Sheila Olsen sang a duet with “I Need Thee Every Hour” and Dennis provided the music to a song he wrote “One.”

Yesterday we celebrated Pentecost Sunday with Pastor Jinkyoung’s message “Pentecost: Language of Love” based on Acts 2: 1-21.  We sang “I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord,” “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling,” and “How Great Thou Art.”  Esther played the first verse of “How Great Thou Art” on her violin and then she and Pastor JInkyoung sang a verse in Korean and we all joined with the rest of the hymn.

During my opening I mentioned learning “In Flanders Field” in grade school when I acknowledged Memorial weekend.  “In Flanders Field” gives you the poem and the history of the poem.  I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend.
