Help our Sponsored Child in Indonesia!
At Jr. High Convo, the youth and leaders accepted the challenge to sponsor a child through Compassion International.  We have been connected with Seindisya Asmara Anatasya of Indonesia, who just turned eight.  Disya’s birthday is January 10, 2005.  Disya lives in a village with her father and mother.  Her father and mother are sometimes employed.  Disya works at home making beds and running errands.  There are two children in the family.  For fun, Disya enjoys telling stories, art, and bicycling.  She attends a Christian instruction regularly, where her performance is rated average.

What can you do to help?support_0
Our sponsorship of Disya costs $38/month.  You can donate in these ways:

– Donate regularly by putting cash or coins in the penny jar at church
– The Wicker Basket Offerings on Sunday mornings are now designated to help support Disya
– Please remember Disya in your prayers. Your love and support will help her to receive the assistance she
needs to grow and develop.
– Check out www.compassion.com for more information about sponsoring children.

There are two ways to donate a shoe box for Operation Christmas Child.

1) Gather family and friends to pack a shoe box at home and bring it to the Church by Sunday November 20.  Please enclose $7 for each shoe box to cover shipping costs.  2) Purchase any of the following item(s):

– Small toys (matchbox cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonica’s, yo-yo’s, slinkeys, etc.)

– School supplies (pens, pencils, crayons, stamp and ink pads, writing pads, solar calculators, coloring books, etc.)

– Hygiene Items (toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, washcloth, etc.)

– Other (hard candy – double bag all candy), gum t-shirts, socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, jewelry, etc.)

Bring the items you’ve collected to the church on Saturday, November 19 at 5:00 p.m. for the gift wrapping and Pot luck.   We put all the toys, schools supplies, and other gifts on the tables.  While some people wrap shoe boxes, others fill the boxes with items for boys and girls in age categories.  After the boxes are filled and wrapped, we carry them up to the sanctuary to be blessed on Sunday morning.  We then gather in the lower level for a pot luck to celebrate the joy filled evening!

Youth Group Sponsors Child in Indonesia

At Jr. High Convo, the youth group and leaders accepted the challenge to sponsor a child through Compassion International.  We have been connected with 6-year old Seindisya Asmara Anatasya of Indonesia.

Disya’s birthday is January 10, 2005.  Disya lives in a village with her father and mother.  Her father and mother are sometimes employed.  Disya works at home making beds and running errands.  There are two children in the family.  For fun, Disya enjoys telling stories, art, and bicycling.  She attends Christian instruction regularly and is in kindergarten, where her performance is rated average.

Our sponsorship of Disya costs $38/month.  You can donate in these ways:

  • Place cash or coins in the large donation penny jar at the church
  • The wicker basket offerings on Sunday mornings will now be designated to help support Disya
  • Support youth group fundraisers, which will help provide support for Disya
  • Purchase fresh vegetables from the youth group’s garden on Sunday mornings
  • Remember Disya in your prayers.  Your love and support will hep her receive the assistance she needs to grow and develop
